After over a decade absence on the market, EA Sports’ college football video game, this year called “College Football 25,” will make its long-anticipated return to the market this summer. Penn State Football fans already have a big reason to be excited.

Thursday, one of Penn State’s junior stars, running back Nick Singleton, promoted the return of the game through a paid partnership on Instagram.

In the announcement Thursday, EA Sports listed each player that opts into the game will have their name, image, and likeness featured in the game and will receive $600 and a copy of the game in return.

With over 11,000 football players on the 134 FBS teams participating in the first return installment, EA Sports will potentially pay out over $6 million in NIL funds to bring the game back to market. In addition to receiving a payment for being in the game, certain players that opt in will be selected as “brand ambassadors” and receive extra payment to promote the game. It is unclear whether Singleton’s announcement was part of this ambassador role.

Singleton enters the 2024 season one of the Nittany Lions‘ two feature backs in a new-look offense under new offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki. Along with fellow juniors quarterback Drew Allar and running back Kaytron Allen, Singleton looks to be one of Penn State’s highest rated offensive players in College Football 25 when it is released.

Likewise, Singleton figures to be a major part of Penn State’s offense in 2024 that hopes to break through into the College Football Playoff for the first time in program history. In his first two seasons in Happy Valley, Singleton has accumulated over 2,200 yards from scrimmage and 23 touchdowns and adding 662 kick return yards, including a 100-yard kick return touchdown. 

What Features Will Be in EA Sports College Football 25?

In addition to announcing the option for players to opt in Thursday, EA Sports announced that the transfer portal, NIL, and the Senior Bowl will all be included in the new game as well.

Penn State fans Football can either be relieved or sad that head coach James Franklin will not make an appearance in the game this summer, as EA Sports announced that real coaches likenesses will not be featured in the first installment of the game.
