Penn State Football made it official; the annual blue-white spring game will be played on April 15th, 2023 inside Beaver Stadium.
In a tradition since 1951, this spring scrimmage allows Penn Staters to get one last fill of football before the school year ends, and a preview of what the upcoming season could hold for the Nittany Lions.
Recent blue-white games have seen an attendance of more than 50,000 fans in Beaver Stadium. An impressive turnout for what was once a crowd of 500 people in 1951, watching it being played in a high school football stadium on a windy and cold Saturday afternoon.

During the last blue-white scrimmage, James Franklin opted to reformat things to be less traditional.
The 2022 Blue-White Game was an offense vs. defense approach due to the lack of healthy offensive linemen. It will be interesting to see if Franklin opts to have the same format as last season, considering many new linemen usually don’t show till late summer.
Following a 10-win regular season, and upcoming Rose Bowl trip, Penn State Football with a loaded roster that includes quarterback Drew Allar, running backs Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen, and a star-studded defense have the potential to offer lofty expectations in 2023.
In addition to the spring game, numerous food vendors, festivals, and sponsors will be out on April 15th, so stay tuned for more details.
