Penn State Football OL Landon Tengwall Makes Shocking Announcement

Penn State Football

Penn State Football redshirt sophomore Landon Tengwall announced Wednesday night on twitter that he is retiring from football.

The former top-100 prospect out of Olney, Maryland started five games for the Nittany Lions in 2022 at left guard before sustaining a season ending injury.

Tengwall returned to the practice field in 2023 and was expected to again start at left guard before sustaining another injury during fall camp.

In his announcement, Tengwall states that the nature of the injury sustained in fall camp will prevent him from returning safely to play football.

Tengwall was seen as a future star both by the Penn State coaching staff, who named him offensive player of the game last season against Auburn, and also by the media, where RJ Young had Landon Tengwall as an All-American in his “Way to early All-American Team” for 2023.

His presence on the field will be missed by Penn State and the injury deals a massive blow to offensive line depth.
