Penn State Football moved to 5-0 on the season with the most frustrating blowout win (and cover of a 26.5 point spread) over Northwestern Saturday.

Offense: Trey Potts
Yes, it’s odd to give the game ball on offense to a player with only four touches, but Potts absolutely made his touches count, scoring two touchdowns acting as the second string running back after starter Kaytron Allen went down in the second quarter with an injury. At the end of the first half, Potts took a handoff 13 yards for Penn State’s first touchdown of the day. At the end of the game, Potts scored the final touchdown of the game to cover the spread on a 30 yard pass from Beau Pribula. In total, Potts accounted for 51 yards and two touchdowns on four touches to provide a much needed spark for Penn State.

Defense: Daequan Hardy and Zane Durant
Penn State’s defense was again ELITE Saturday with a season high 12 tackles for a loss, seven sacks, and a turnover. Daequan Hardy intercepted possibly the easiest pass that you could find, as it seemed Northwestern’s backup quarterback did not see the senior corner and threw directly at him. Zane Durant recorded one sack and a team high three tackles for a loss.
Special Teams: Zion Tracy and Alex Felkins
Freshman Zion Tracy made one of the best plays of the day for Penn State, stopping a fake punt in the third quarter. Tracy read the play perfectly, shedding a block and making the tackle just before the line to gain.Alex Felkins was perfect Saturday, converting his two field goals and five extra points. Felkins hit a season long 47 yard attempt in the third quarter.
