Why 2026 CB Amauri Polydor Committed to Penn State Football: ‘The Brotherhood’ and NFL Development

On Friday, Penn State Football secured the commitment of DMV product Amauri Polydor. The Saint Frances Academy Cornerback announced his pledge on Friday evening.

Recently, Polydor was kind enough to discuss his commitment with NittanyCentral.

According to Polydor, there was a key factor that helped head coach James Franklin and Penn State secure his commitment.

“Honestly, the brotherhood.” Poldyor told NittanyCentral, during a wide-ranging conversation, referenced when asked why he chose the Nittany Lions. “And the development, they have a lot of guys that go to the NFL.”

The DMV Cornerback had a lot of good things to say about the Nittany Lions.

Why Polydor Chose Penn State

There is a certain vibe to Happy Valley, to the program from the moment you step foot into the Lasch Building that pushed Penn State across the finish line for Polydor.

“I know they’re going to develop me as a man,” Polydor explained. “And as a better football player in general. So, that’s one of the big impacts that impacted my decision.”

Polydor joins Jaziel Hart and Julian Peterson as Cornerbacks in the 2026 Penn State Football recruiting class.

I asked Amauri Polydor what he would say to people who look down on him because of his ranking.

“Honestly, I would tell them, like, rankings really don’t mean nothing.” Said Polydor. “I think I’m a hidden gem, and I actually really recently just started to blow up.

“Those guys that are four stars and five stars they had that recognition, that exposure, since freshman year… But I just started getting this exposure.”

Polydor is a hard worker. He echoed that sentiment in talking about how he intends to prove the rankings wrong.

“I don’t think rankings really matter.” Polydor stated. “I think it’s the work that really gets put in and when you get up to college you put in on, that’s really what it is.”

When describing himself as a football player, Anauri Polydor put it this way.

“I’d say I’m and overall athlete. I’m a ball player, a playmaker, handsy [on] receivers, fast, that describes me right there… One on one, man coverage, it’s me 9 times out of 10.”

Polydor Describes His Unique High School Journey

Amauri Polydor is on his third high school in 4 years.

While this may appear to be a red flag, it is not. Polydor has good reason to be at all the places he has been.

“The only reason I transferred from the first high school I was at was because their program shut down.” Said the future Penn Stater. “So our team moved to Mount Zion and we had that season over there with the same players and same coaching staff, so that was that. Me transferring to Saint Frances was just getting me prepared for the college level.”

Polydor has had a unique high school football journey. However, the future Penn State Football player has found success and looks to continue that success in his senior year at Saint Frances Academy.

Penn State Football is getting a hidden gem and quality prospect in Amauri Polydor.
