Penn State football head coach James Franklin arrives at Milan Puskar Stadium before an NCAA football game against West Virginia, Saturday, August 31, 2024, in Morgantown, W. Va.
After landing talented Offensive Lineman, Benjamin Eziuka, Penn State Football stays hot on the recruiting trail. Today, Cornerback Amauri Polydor announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions.
Penn State has been leading this one for a while. When NittanyCentral caught up with Polydor in March, he could see himself as a Nittany Lion.
“I could also see myself playing on their field,” Polydor told NittanyCentral. “Just the way they were practicing and everything.” Said Polydor.
Amauri Polydor has transferred into powerhouse, Saint Frances Academy in Maryland for his senior year. He looks to make a big impact on the DMV prep football scene.

Where Else Could Polydor Have Gone?
The ON3 Industry three-star had some very solid choices considering his rating. Polydor seems to be a candidate for a late riser in the recruiting ranking world. Additionally, the feedback I’ve heard on Penn State’s end has been very good.
Ever since Amauri Polydor stepped off of that Penn State Football practice field in late March, the Nittany Lions have led in his recruitment.
There was not a lack of competition for the Baltimore native, though. Polydor had legitimate interest from South Carolina, Michigan State, Indiana, Virginia Tech, and others.
Landing Polydor also potentially opens up a door to Saint Frances Academy. Saint Frances has been a high school that traditionally Penn State has not been able to recruit well. They produce a lot of high end talent, close to Happy Valley, but Penn State has struggled there. Maybe Polydor’s commitment opens up more doors to the DMV powerhouse.

What Is Next For Penn State Football Recruiting?
After landing Polydor, what else should be noted?
Amauri Polydor hopping on board the class of 2026 is very notable for Penn State Football fans. Polydor marks Penn State’s 19th commitment in the class of 2026. Additionally, Polydor marks the third Cornerback in the class. This is interesting given the names out there at the Cornerback spot. I think Penn State is still in it with Khary Adams, CJ Bronaugh, Dorian Barney, and a long shot at Brandon Arrington.
At first, it seems hard to square with Polydor hopping on board. However, I believe that James Franklin and company will likely take 4, if not 5 Cornerbacks this cycle, leaving plenty of room for those who may be higher on Terry Smith’s board.
