Drew Allar

Penn State Football, Drew Allar

Former five-star football recruit, Penn State quarterback Drew Allar is starting for his second season as the quarterback of the Nittany Lions.

Hailing from deep in Big Ten rival Ohio State territory in Medina Ohio, Allar was a recruiting gem in the Nittany Lions’ heralded 2022 class, ranking third nationally and the number one quarterback in the nation according to 247Sports.

At 6-foot-5 and 235 pounds, Allar is a “prototypical build of a big-bodied pro-style quarterback” according to 247Sports’ scouting analyst Gabe Brooks.

Allar holds the NCAA record for most passing attempts without an interception to start a collegiate career at the FBS level (311), surpassing Robert Griffin III’s record by over 100 attempts. Allar is also only the second quarterback in FBS history to throw for 25+ touchdowns and two or fewer interceptions in a season.
