NFL Draft: Abdul Carter Will not Work Out at Penn State Football Pro Day
Penn State Football edge rusher Abdul Carter very well might hear his name called as the No. 1 overall pick of the Tennesee Titans in the 2025 NFL Draft, but Tennessee and every other team will once again need to wait to see the All-American work out.
One day before Penn State is set to host its Pro Day, Carter’s agent Drew Rosenhaus announced to ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Abdul Carter will not work out Friday in State College, Pennsylvania.
In the announcement, Rosenhaus stated that Carter “is still finishing up rehab on the shoulder injury he had from the Boise State Game” and that Carter “may still do a workout for teams sometime in mid-April.”

At the NFL Combine last month Rosenhaus told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that he expected Carter to be recovered in time to workout at this week’s Pro Day, but it seems as though Carter’s recovery is taking a bit longer than originally expected.
The Philadelphia native, and former five-star recruit, produced 12 sacks with 68 total tackles during his final season in Happy Valley, while logging two forced fumbles and four pass breakups.
In addition to his value on the stat sheet, Pro Football Focus credits Carter with 43 pressures while awarding him an elite 93 true pass-rush-win-rate.
Carter’s disruptiveness pops off his game film, but if there are teams hoping to get some sort of validation of his athleticism from his 40-yard dash, or short-shuttle, they’ll have to wait and see if Carter does workout mid-April as Rosenhaus suggests.
