Penn State Aims for Elite O-Line in the Class of 2027
The class of 2027 has the makings of being an elite on for Penn State Football. With three players already in the stable, the Nittany Lions look to build on their already elite core.
The position group in focus today, is the Offensive Line. With Delaware product, Layton von Brandt already committed, Penn State is looking to stack an elite class of Offensive Lineman.

Penn State’s 2027 O-Line is off to a Phenomenal Start
As I previously mentioned, the Nittany Lions are already off to a great start in 2027. There is no exception to that when it comes to the trenches.
Appoquinimink’s Layton von Brandt, is Penn State Football’s only committed Offensive Lineman. Von Brandt is a highly talented prospect and will surely be a blue chip prospect throughout the cycle. What makes von Brandt unique is his skillset, combined with his tenacious mindset.
As far as von Brandt’s recruitment goes, he is locked in with Penn State. Von Brandt is one of Penn State’s vocal leaders, behind the scenes, on social media, and all around in the class of 2027. He’s a really good player and an even better kid.
The Prospects at Offensive Tackle
With this budding class of 2027, there are a boatload of names that Penn State is involved with. So, given the high volume of names, the format on this breakdown will be a little bit different. I am going to list a lot of prospects and then break them down in the following paragraph.
Here are some of the names Penn State Football is recruiting at Offensive Tackle right now: Qua Ford, Cameron Wagner, Elijah Hutcheson, Jimmy Kalis, and Oluwasemilore Olubobola.
All of the aforementioned names are well within Penn State’s recruiting footprint, with the exception of Texas native, Qua Ford. So Penn State, naturally, is involved with all of them. Cameron Wagner, Jimmy Kalis, and Oluwasemilore Olubobola all made trips to State College this spring. Penn State is certainly in the mix for all of these guys. Pairing Von Brandt with Olubobola, Kalis, or Wagner seems like the 3 most likely outcomes. However, any of the other talented prospects mentioned above would be an exceptional Offensive Tackle haul in the class of 2027.

The Prospects on the Interior
The interior of the Offensive Line is where a lot of meat is in this 2027 recruiting class. There are some elite prospects. Assuming Penn State takes 5 Offensive Lineman, 2 on the outside and 3 on the inside, the Nittany Lions would like to land 3 of these prospects.
So who are the top targets on the interior of the Offensive Line? Some names to look for include: Maxwell Hiller, Peyton Miller, Sidney Rouleau, Terrance Smith, Carter Jones, Lucas Rhoa, Jaiden Lindsay, and Justyn Perez.
The headliner of that group is far and away, Maxwell Hiller. Hiller is a Coatesville, Pa native. As an ON3 Industry 4-star, Hiller recently released a top 8, composed of several elite schools like Penn State, Clemson, Alabama, Tennessee, and others. When I speak with Layton von Brandt, he is always quick to bring up his peer recruiting efforts with Hiller. Maxwell Hiller is an extremely important recruit in this cycle. He is a top target for Phil Trautwein.
A lot of the other names have been to State College frequently. Frankly, with how big the board is on the interior, it is hard to get a feel for which targets Penn State is prioritizing. I do know that they are in communication with all of those targets and they are in the running for them. Sidney Rouleau relaesed a top 12 including Penn State. Justyn Perez tells me he likes Penn State a lot. Terrance Smith seems to like Penn State, as well as Rutgers. The point being, there are a lot of guys in the running. For Penn State, they would love to secure Hiller and then add whoever else they can get along the interior.
