PHILADELPHIA — Penn State Basketball has a bit of an adopted second home, one of the nation’s most iconic arenas, and will be making a return visit during the 2023-2024 regular season.
Monday, a report surfaced that the Nittany Lions will once again host a home game at the “Cathedral of College Basketball,” also known as The Palestra in Philadelphia.
According to Jon Rothstein, that game will be a Big Ten Conference Matchup.

The Palestra is located on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania, in the basketball hotbed of Philadelphia.
Last season, Penn State Basketball played then-No. 1 ranked Purdue at the Palestra, which saw Penn State fall to the Boilermakers but the atmosphere was electric.

Why Penn State Basketball Playing at The Palestra Matters
This is a huge recurring tool for the Nittany Lions as there is a lot of Penn State fans in the Philadelphia area.
The last 3 times that Penn State has played at the Palestra, they have been Big Ten Home games which started in the 2016-17 season, the Nittany Lions have gone 2-1 in those games with wins over Michigan State & Iowa, the only loss was to Purdue last year.
