Penn State Football landed one of the premier running backs in the 2025 recruiting class on Thursday.
Alvin Henderson, a 4-star recruit, picked the Nittany Lions over an impressive offer list.
The Alabama native also strongly considered in-state Auburn, along with Florida State and Miami. In all, Henderson collected 45 offers throughout his recruitment.
The 5-foot-9, 200 pound running back put up video game type numbers as a junior for Elba High School last Fall. He carried the ball 225 times for 3,523 yards and 61 touchdowns. None of those numbers are typos.

What Alvin Henderson Adds to Penn State’s 2025 Class
With Henderson on board, Penn State now has three running backs committed in the 2025.
Henderson joins 4-star Kiandrea Barker and 3-star Tiqwai Hayes. We’ve seen plenty of two-running-back classes before with the Nittany Lions, but this is the first three-back class since 2014.
Considering Penn State likely loses Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen after the 2024 season, having as many options as possible moving forward is a wise move.
Henderson is the No. 12 commit for Penn State Football in the 2025 class, which ranks seventh nationally.
Penn State will have to work to secure Henderson’s signature on signing day, but this is a big initial victory for the Nittany Lions.
