Following the kind of regular season that boosted his NFL Draft stock significantly, Penn State Football cornerback Joey Porter Jr. announced his decision Wednesday night about his future with the program.
Porter announced on social media Wednesday night that he is foregoing the Nittany Lions’ upcoming bowl game, and will enter the 2023 NFL Draft.

During the 2022 season, Joey Porter Jr started nine games at cornerback which saw him have 26 tackles (21 solo), 11 pass breakups, and a fumble recovery.
Those inside the NFL have high expectations for Porter, with some believing he will come off the board early in the first-round next April.
“Joey Porter Jr. is a big-time prospect and he’ll definitely be a first-round pick,” an NFC personnel executive told Heavy NFL Insider Matt Lombardo. “He’s legit. He’s easily Penn State’s best NFL prospect, and a starting caliber NFL corner.”

Porter Jr.’s decision comes one day after Penn State Football offensive tackle, and projected top-15 draft pick Olu Fashanu announced that he would be returning to the program for the 2023 campaign.
