In January, Paul Posluszny was elected as the 27th Penn State Football legend to enter the College Football Hall of Fame.

Now, five months later, two more Nittany Lions have earned their place on the College Football Hall of Fame ballot, Ki-Jana Carter and D.J. Dozier.

Both Carter and Dozier were also on the 2024 ballot with Poslusnzy, but were not selected for the 2024 Hall of Fame class.

Ki-Jana Carter

Ki-Jana Carter was a standout running back for Penn State Football in the early 1990s, playing three seasons in Happy Valley and rushing for 2,829 yards and 34 touchdowns.

Carter was a member of the infamous 1994 Penn State team that was recognized by numerous media outlets as the 1994 National Champions, despite not being a claimed national championship by Penn State.

In the 1995 Rose Bowl, Carter’s last game with the Nittany Lions, Carter ran for 156 yards and three touchdowns, helping to cap off Penn State’s last perfect season.

The Cincinnati Bengals selected Carter with the number one pick in the 1995 NFL draft, the last running back to earn the coveted number one selection.

D.J. Dozier

D.J. Dozier was a standout running back during the mid-1980s, and was a key member of the team that won Penn State’s last claimed national championship in 1986.

Dozier played four seasons with the Nittany Lions, rushing for 3,227 yards and 25 touchdowns. Dozier was a first-round selection 14th overall by the Minnesota Vikings in the 1987 NFL draft.

Both Carter and Dozier still rank in the top 10 for most rushing yards all-time for Penn State Football, and Carter ranks fourth all-time at Penn State for rushing touchdowns. Carter and Dozier are among 77 players announced on the 2025 ballot Monday by the National Football Foundation.
