Abdul Carter Joins Perennial All-Pro in Latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft
After a monster, head-turning season from Penn State Football edge rusher Abdul Carter, mock drafts across the internet have the edge rusher flying off the board early.
In Dane Brugler’s latest mock draft, Carter joins forces with a perennial all-pro in Myles Garrett with the Cleveland Browns selecting Carter with the second pick. What a combination that would be. Carter would be an early favorite for defensive rookie of the year, as Garrett consistently earns double teams.
“It’s likely that Deshaun Watson has played his final snap for the Cleveland Browns,” Brugler writes for The Athletic. “So, a quarterback certainly will be on the table here. But I don’t expect Cleveland to force the pick if the right fit isn’t there. Carter playing opposite Myles Garrett would be a scary thought for opposing offenses.”
How Abdul Carter Would Fit the Cleveland Browns
In 2024, Garrett eclipsed the 100-career sack mark and had 14 on the season, good for second in the NFL.
There have been trade rumors regarding Garrett (as usual), but regardless of a potential trade, but Carter could be the future Myles Garrett for the Cleveland Browns.
After a position change from linebacker to edge rusher, Abdul Carter flashed. With 12 sacks for the Nittany Lions in 2024, he was instrumental in helping the team to the semifinals.
Carter will be an instant contributor to an NFL team like fellow Penn State alumni, Micah Parsons, was for the Cowboys.
