Penn State Football’s Season Dealt Potential Crushing Blow in First Half vs. Wisconsin

Penn State Football, Drew Allar

No. 3 Penn State Football trailed Wisconsin 10-7 at halftime on Saturday night, but that was far from the worst news for the Nittany Lions at Camp Randall Stadium.

Just before halftime, quarterback Drew Allar suffered an apparent leg injury when he was sacked, and moments later walked into the locker room with a member of the training staff before the rest of his teammates.

Allar appeared to test out his knee just after halftime, while wearing a brace on his left knee, but wound up shaking his head and was ultimately replaced by backup quarterback Beu Pribula.

Prior to getting injured, Allar was 14-of-18 passing for 148 yards and one touchdown.

However, with Allar out, and his outlook for the rest of the season — at best unknown, the pressure is on Pribula and the offense not only to come back against Wisconsin but the star quarterback’s absence could lower the ceiling on what had the looks of a potentially special season for head coach James Franklin’s program.
