“Good Luck in Sad Valley” Penn State Hires Jim Knowles, and Ohio State Fans Lose Their Mind
Penn State took a massive swing in its search for former defensive coordinator Tom Allen’s replacement, hiring Jim Knowles away from Ohio State.
Knowles had just led Ohio State to the National Championship, and less than a week later, the 59-year-old coordinator, and Philadelphia native, is returning to the Keystone State for a happy Valley homecoming.
Yahoo! Sports’ Pete Thamel reports that Knowles’ deal will average upwards of $3.1 million per season with the Nittany Lions.

Over $3 million is a lot of money for a college coordinator, but he is well worth it after the Buckeyes’ performances against Oregon, Texas, and Notre Dame in their last three playoff games.
