Penn State Football Lands No. 1 Spot in Joel Klatt’s Post-Spring College Football Rankings

Fox color commentator and college football voice, Joel Klatt released his “Post Spring top 25” today. Klatt’s ranking featured Penn State Football claiming the number one spot. A spot where Nittany Lions fans hope Penn State will be, come January.

Klatt has been subject to heavy criticism by times from Penn State fans. This comes mostly from his role at FOX of calling the “Big Noon Kickoff” game. One in which Penn State had to host Ohio State at home, at noon, last year. This left many Penn State fans angry and frustrated at Joel Klatt and his colleagues at FOX.

However, the post-spring ranking should earn Klatt some merit among Penn State fans.

Klatt’s rankings make a lot of sense given the momentum Penn State Football is riding.

Coming off a College Football Playoff semi-final loss, and returning many starters, leaves Penn State in prime position for the 2025 season.

Additionally, Penn State Football was able to go to the transfer portal and pick up three key Wide Receivers to complement the likes of Drew Allar, Nick Singleton, and Kaytron Allen.

The other teams in the top five of Klatt’s ranking that follow Penn State are Texas, Ohio State, Oregon, and Clemson in that order.

Penn State Football is set to matchup with both, Oregon and Ohio State in 2025. If Klatt’s rankings hold true, those two games will be must-see T.V.

Two other teams on Penn State’s schedule are listed in Klatt’s top 25. Those teams are Indiana at 21 and Iowa at 23. Penn State will travel to play Iowa on the road and then play Indiana at home 3 weeks later. Both, Indiana and Iowa could be intriguing matchups for Penn State.
