BREAKING: Penn State adds a 3rd class of 2027 Commitment

On Saturday Penn State Football added a commitment to the class of 2027. Wide Receiver Khalil Taylor tells NittanyCentral that he has committed to the Nittany Lions. Taylor attends Pittsburgh area high school, Seton-La Salle. He ranks as the country’s 32nd best player in the class of 2027 according to On3’s industry ratings. The Pittsburgh native also slots in as the 4th best receiver in the country.

Surely Marques Hagans is excited to land Taylor. Keeping the in state standout home is a great sign for James Franklin and company as they continue to build onto a budding class of 2027. The only other commitment the Nittany Lions have earned in the class of 2027 is Delaware offensive lineman, Layton Von Brandt.

What Does Taylor Bring to the Wide Receiver Room?

Nittany Lion fans should be ecstatic about landing Khalil Taylor. As a sophomore, he posted 1,267 all purpose yards while scoring a whopping 24 touchdowns. All of this as he helped lead Seton-La Salle to an undefeated regular season. Taylor should only continue to get better as he grows and develops.

After watching the 6 foot, 182 pound receiver, the one word to describe him is: Playmaker. Khalil Taylor is an absolute playmaker. Whether it’s Taylor taking an end around to the house, breaking up a pass or running through tackles he makes plays. Taylor’s film is riddled with everything a team could want in a wideout. He has size, he can run past people, make people miss, catch the deep ball and like I have described, he can make plays. Penn State Football is getting a very talented, do it all wide receiver in Taylor.

As far as the Wide Receiver board goes, Taylor is probably atop the list for this young class of 2027. Other important receiver targets are Matthew Gregory, Bryan Porter, and Dakota Guerrant. Of course, the class of 2027 has a long time between now and signing day. Naturally more names will emerge that the Nittany Lions will look to secure, but Taylor is as good of a start at Wide Receiver as anyone could ask for.
