‘Always Been Penn State in The Front’ No. 1 WR Khalil Taylor Talks Nittany Lions Commitment
Over the weekend, Penn State Football picked up it’s third commitment in the class of 2027.
Seton-La Salle Wide Receiver, Khalil Taylor announced his pledge to the Nittany Lions just two days after his visit on Thursday. Recently, NittanyCentral caught up with Taylor to dive deeper into his commitment.
According to Taylor, there was one simple driving force behind his decision to commit to head coach James Franklin and the staff in Happy Valley.
“The love that they showed me,” Taylor explained was what stood out.”The day I came in, two days ago they had all the coaches and recruiters, standing around, just welcoming me. It’s just always been Penn State in the front.”
Taylor is one of the most sought after wide receivers in his recruiting cycle, and as much as the Nittany Lions have had sights set on adding him to the fold, the No. 1 ranked player at the position –according to 247Sports– has been drawn to Penn State.
“I’ve been thinking about it, me and my friends have been talking about it for like at least a month about it… When we came up the other day and I seen them practice and how they welcomed me. Like, I knew that’s when I actually wanted to come here and commit and be a Nittany Lion.”
Taylor is the highest ranked Wide Receiver recruit Penn State Football has landed since Kaden Saunders in 2022. The class of 2026 and 2027 look to change that and continue stacking elite players like Khalil Taylor. Ultimately, this class of 2027 can help change the narrative about Penn State.
NittanyCentral spoke at length with Taylor about his commitment, his recruiting journey, and more during a wide-ranging conversation.
NittanyCentral: Who was the first coach you told that you were committed?
Khalil Taylor: “Coach Terry”
With Terry Smith and James Franklin building on the foundation of Von Brandt, Spell and Taylor in the class of 2027 it will likely bring more winning football to Happy Valley.
