3 Things About Penn State Football’s Newest Commit, Jaziel Hart
Thursday, Penn State Football welcomed the commitment of Jaziel Hart.
Hart is a Cornerback out of Roanoke Virginia. His ON3 Industry Ranking has Hart pinned as a three star.
Hart’s final five schools included Penn State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, and Tennessee.
Here are three things to know about Penn State Football’s latest commitment, Jaziel Hart.
1. Elite Ball Skills
Jaziel Hart possesses elite ball skills.
It goes without saying, any successful power 4 Cornerback needs to have good ball skills. Hart has three interceptions right off the bat on his Hudl tape, which you can see here. According to his stats on his X page, Hart collected 2 pick sixes, 3 interceptions, 50 plus tackles, and 10 plus pass breakups.
The 10 pass breakups stand out to me. That is a lot for a high school Cornerback. The tape is there, Hart plays Cornerback with great ball skills.

2. Physicality and Size
Standing at 6 feet, 170 pounds, Jaziel Hart has the size of a standout Cornerback.
In addition to his height and weight, Hart also plays with good physicality.
The future Penn Stater combines his size and physicality to be a tackle machine on the field. Racking up over 50 tackles in his junior season, Hart shows a great ability to hit hard, and make tackles. One of Hart’s Hudl highlights included him running from the sideline to the middle of the field to lay the boom and disrupt a pass.
At first glance, Jaziel Hart reminds me a little bit of current Penn State Football player, Zion Tracy. Tracy has good ball skills, solid size, and can make tackles when needed. Hart gives me similar vibes.
3. Hart May Need to Improve Speed
Although Hart has great ball skills, size, and physicality, he lacks a little bit of speed.
According to Jaziel Hart’s Hudl profile, he runs a 4.67 40-yard dash. His film shows that his speed translates a little bit to game speed. He isn’t slow, but Hart will probably need to improve his speed before he gets on the field at Penn State.
Hart’s lack of top-end speed is nothing that Chuck Losey can’t fix in a year or two of strength and conditioning. Getting him to Penn State and working out should help Hart become a little faster and thus improve his game.
