The Penn State Football recruiting hot streak continues. Over the weekend Penn State has landed Bryson Williams, and now another one.
Athlete Tyrell Chatman has committed to the Nittany Lions.
Chatman is another former Iowa State signee. He was released from his letter of intent and has now rejoined forces with Matt Campbell.
The 6 foot 2 Athlete out of Nebraska is listed as a Cornerback on some sites, and a Safety on others. So, he has some position versatility at the next level. Additionally, he is a top 3 player in the state of Nebraska, and listed as a 3-star by the recruiting services.
Chatman committed to Northern Illinois last December. However, after he gained offers from Iowa State over the winter, he flipped to the Cyclones in April.

Elite Speed that Plays at the Next Level
According to Chatman’s X account, he has elite speed. He clocked a 10.7 second 100 meter race, which files as very elite high shcool speed. During his injury shortened season, Chatman played 8 games. During those 8 games, Chatman posted 1,145 yards, 15 touchdowns, 30 tackles, and 14 pass breakups.
Penn State Football is getting a very high upside Cornerback. Chatman has great speed, which, you can’t teach. It will be interesting to see how that speed translates to Penn State, but you can never have too much speed.
Overall, Matt Campbell is gaining some serious steam for his class of 2026.
