“Prepared to give 100 Percent”, Penn State Football commit Julian Peterson Talks Nittany Lions [EXCLUSIVE]
Back in January, Penn State Football landed it’s second most recent commitment. The New Jersey corner Julian Peterson jumped on board with head coach James Franklin and the Nittany Lions in January after a junior day.
Recently, the top ten New Jersey player talked to NittanyCentral about his recruitment, what drew him to Franklin and Penn State, and more.
“Penn State stood out to me because of the way the coaches made me feel from the very beginning,” Peterson told NittanyCentral is what drew him to Happy Valley. “They were always personable, friendly, and consistent in showing interest in me—not just as a player, but as a person.
“Every interaction made it clear that I was a priority for them, and that kind of genuine connection really mattered in my decision.” The defender continued on to talk about Penn State’s rich history saying “On top of that, the culture, the program’s history, and the opportunities both on and off the field made Penn State the best fit for me.”
Not only does Penn State make sense for Peterson, but he has always had a connection with coach Terry Smith.
“From the very first interaction,” Peterson said, describing his relationship with Smith. “Coach Terry was very personable and not just with me, but with my parents as well. He made me feel welcomed and valued right away, taking the time to get to know me beyond just football. I feel like he truly cares about me as a person. From that first conversation, he stayed in contact, checking in and making sure I knew I was a priority for Penn State.”

What Should Nittany Lion Fans Know About Julian Peterson?
Well for starters, Peterson told me he loves Chick Fil-A.
But, beyond that, Penn State faithful should know that Peterson is very clear about it: he wants to have an impact.
“I’m coming to compete,” Peterson says. Lead, and make an impact from day one. I love the game of football so they can expect a player who’s all in, ready to embrace the culture, and prepared to give 100 percent.”
The Winslow Township standout is totally locked in with the Nittany Lions.
Peterson also noted when he plans to make it back to State College. “I’ll be on campus for the Spring game in April.” Peterson said.

East Coast Phenom States His Goals For Senior Year
Winslow Township’s Head Football Coach is a familiar name for Penn State fans: Bill Belton.
The former Penn State running back has been coaching there for the last three years. This past year Winslow Township had a very successful year. One in which they won the NJSIAA Group IV State Championship.
Peterson holds this year to a similar standard.
” For my senior year,” Peterson explained. “My biggest team goal is to help my team get back to the state championship and win again (two back to back state championship seasons). I strongly believe we have the talent and chemistry to make it happen.”
Peterson also talked about playing new competition. “I’m also looking forward to my teammates and I competing against some new and talented programs on our schedule like IMG and Bergen Catholic. I think it will be some competitive football.”
Playing powers like IMG Academy and Bergen Catholic should only help Belton and Peterson on their quest for back-to-back New Jersey state titles.
Peterson was quick to talk about the team.
His main focus was about winning.
However, Peterson also shared some personal goals he has for this upcoming season.
“Personally, I want to keep improving my game in every aspect,” Peterson revealed. “Such as my technique, strength, and speed so I can be as prepared as possible for the next level. I also want to be an impact player every time I step on the field, making big plays when my team needs them most.”
