BREAKING: 2026 Linebacker Mathieu Lamah Commits to Penn State

After landing another top Linebacker target on Friday, Penn State Football has doubled up by landing another top Linebacker Monday.

Mathieu Lamah (Formerly Kanu), a rising linebacker in the 2026 class, announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions. This makes the Virginia native the second Linebacker in the class of 2026. Additionally, Lamah marks the 15th commitment for Penn State in the class of 2026.

Lamah holds an ON3 Industry Ranking and is actually ranked in the top 300 by ON3. Lamah chose Penn State Football over Michigan, Virginia Tech, and North Carolina.

This commitment is a big one for the Nittany Lions, considering Lamah is one of their top targets at Linebacker. Not only is Lamah a top 2 target for Penn State, but he was up front about Penn State during the whole process. During the times me and Lamah spoke, he was always honest about Penn State being the team to beat. Now, he has officially pulled the trigger.

What Does Lamah Bring to the Class of 2026

Lamah checks all of the boxes physically. He stands at 6-3, 220 pounds. Which is obviously division one Linebacker size.

The first thing Mathieu Lamah is good at is his pursuit. Throughout his film, there are so many examples of this. He possesses a phenomenal ability to see ball, get ball. This is especially true in the open field. There were numerous examples of Lamah hunting down a screen pass or something like that in space.

That leads me to the second thing Mathieu Lamah is good at. He is good at open field tackling. Once Lamah pursues to the player with the ball, he is ready to lay the boom. He is a hard hitter in space. He is a tackling machine in the open field, due to his pursuit angles and sure tackling.

Pursuit and tackling are two things that Lamah does well. However, earlier this spring, he told me that there are two areas of his game that he wants to improve. The areas of coverage and block destruction is what Mathieu Lamah wants to work on this season.

What is Next for Penn State Football Recruiting?

Penn State Football recruiting is really heating up. I wrote a full breakdown on where things stand last week.

Over the weekend, 5 star Cornerback Brandon Arrington took an official visit to Penn State. He seemed to really enjoy it, however, he will still be a tough one to pull off. Although just getting him on campus is a really good sign.

Another name to keep an eye on is Defensive Lineman, Alexander Haskell. He is set to announce his commitment on Friday. It looks like Penn State and Michigan will be the top two choices for Haskell. He has been pretty quiet throughout his recruitment, however, I would imagine the in-state Nittany Lions have a good chance at landing Haskell.
