Penn State Football Backfield Gets Deeper with Latest 2023 Commitment

Penn State Football

Penn State Football added some high-end depth to one of the most gifted backfields in the nation, ahead of National Signing Day.

Penn State head football coach James Franklin greets fans outside Beaver Stadium before an NCAA football game against Michigan Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023, in State College, Pa.

James Franklin picked up another commit with running back Cameron Wallace adding his name to the class of 2023.

Wallace is a 3-star recruit out of Mount Vernon, Georgia. The 6-foot 180-pound athlete is not ranked nationally and is 89th at his position and 105th in the state of Georgia.

This isn’t a flashy pickup for Penn State Football, after all Wallace is the lowest-ranked of the 23 players verbally committed.

What Cameron Wallace Commitment Means to Penn State’s Future

Wallace shows is how Franklin is recruiting more nationally and more specifically from SEC country.

This is now the 5th player from that region in the 2023 class alone and that has been a positive trend for the Nittany Lions staff in recent years.

With the early signing day approaching, keep an eye out for potential flips both towards and away from Penn State Football.
