“They Believed in Me”: Tyshon Huff’s Journey to Penn State Football
Recently, Huff was kind enough to talk to NittanyCentral about his commitment to Penn State, and why he chose the Nittany Lions.
“They believed in me and saw that I’m someone who deserved a chance like this. Regardless of where I came from.” Huff told NittanyCentral. “Coach Clanton is one of the coolest coaches I’ve ever met, very down to earth and relatable. From the brief conversations I’ve had with Coach Campbell, he seems very understanding and composed.”
For Huff, his 2025 season at Tiffin was flat-out dominant. He played Guard or Tackle in all 11 games and only allowed one sack.
“I play like a dog,” Huff said, describing his skillset. “My mindset is to dominate my one-on-one, no matter what. I hold myself to a high expectation.”

The Clanton Connection: Why Huff Chose the Lions
A “Relentless” Addition to the 2026 Front Five

Despite Huff’s dominance as a Division II player, there is undoubtedly a jump in difficulty from D-II to FBS.
However, Huff is very confident that he can make that jump just fine.
“Just because I came from a D2 doesn’t mean I don’t deserve this.” Huff said. “I put in just as much work as anyone else who got an opportunity at Penn State, if I didn’t then my tape wouldn’t have caught coach Clanton’s eyes.”
The goal for Huff at Penn State is simple.
“I’m here to work hard and win games for Penn State,” Huff declared. “And I’m going to do just that.”
