No. 1 Penn State Wrestling vs. American: Nittany Lions send the Seniors out with the 50-3 win | FULL RESULTS

Penn State Wrestling capped off the 2024-2025 regular season by defeating American 50-3 Friday evening in Rec Hall.

The Nittany Lions won nine of the 10 matches. Additionally they kept the scorer’s table busy as all of their wins were via bonus points. This included four technical falls and five pins.

It was a great night for Penn State Wrestling, it was a great night for the Nittany Lion fans in attendance, and it was a fitting end to what was an incredible regular season for Cael Sanderson and his incredible wrestling program.

Now onto the dual meet and the individual results.

There’s honestly not a lot to say here.

And look, this is no disrespect to American. They’re a fine wrestling program. However they are not whatever the heck Penn State Wrestling is.

The Eagles have put together a solid regular season in going an even 10-10 on the year. But the Nittany Lions scheduled this dual meet for the same reasons they scheduled Edinboro last year and Clarion the year before.

And that was to get their guys some live action against someone other than their teammate. It was also a good time to work out any kinks and to get additional reps in before the B1G’s. And more importantly, it was to send the guys who would be donning the blue and white singlet in Rec Hall for the last time, a hero’s farewell on Senior night.

Nothing more. Nothing less.
