Penn State Wrestling: No. 1 Nittany Lions demolish No. 15 Oklahoma 45-0 | FULL RESULTS
Penn State Wrestling started out the 2025-2026 strong by taking the No. 15 ranked Sooners behind the woodshed and teaching them a lesson.
From start to finish it was nothing short of “belt to cheeks”. The Nittany Lions won all 10 of the bouts, including eight bonus point wins, on their way to the 45-0 win in front of a solid home crowd.
And while this BJC dual meet appeared to be a decent matchup on paper, that did not at all play out in reality. But hey, that’s what happens when Oklahoma decides to sit five of their ranked guys.

I didn’t realize it was “duck season” already.
Anyway, now onto the action!

And before we get into the action, I do want to say one thing.
Call me old school, call me lame, heck you can just call me old. But there was no reason this dual meet should have been in the Bryce Jordan Center. Especially considering the fact the Sooners decided to only bring about half of their starting roster.
Obviously Pat Kraft and company had no idea that Oklahoma would do that. But let’s just save the BJC duals for Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio State, and Michigan (when they’re actually good).
*Hops off 27′ tall soap box*
Which brings us to the single most surprising event of the night.
A home Penn State Wrestling dual meet started at 197 pounds.
Yep.
197-141
And the Mirasola brothers got the crowd going as they each picked up a ranked win.
Connor (dual meet debut) completely overwhelmed No. 8 DJ Parker as he cruised to the 13-3 major decision. Then Cole followed that up by putting in a workman-like 5-2 decision win.
Lightning Luke Lilledahl continued to keep the pedal to the floor for the Nittany Lions as he breezed to the 14-4 major decision.
Furthermore, after the first three matches of the evening, the Nittany Lions jumped out to an 11-0 lead over Oklahoma.
Next up at 133, the second Nittany Lion made their dual meet debut of the night as Marcus Blaze took to the mat. And he showed no signs of any first-time jitters.
Blaze plowed his way to the 18-3 technical fall just seconds into the third period.
And after taking a medical redshirt last season, Aaron Nagao was back in action for the Nittany Lions at 141.
While his top game appeared in peak form, the match as a whole was a bit shaky for Nagao. But a win is better than a loss, right?
Heading into the break, Nagao’s 9-5 decision gave Penn State a 19-0 lead over the Sooners.
149-184
And coming out of the half, Shayne Van Ness, Joe Sealey, and Mitchell Mesenbrink kept the pain train rolling for the Penn State Wrestling.
Additionally, that trio of talented Nittany Lions each picked up a technical fall. Van Ness rolled 20-1, Sealey prevailed 19-4, and Mesenbrink cruised 19-4 in just the second period.
With only two matches remaining in the dual, the Nittany Lions extended their lead to 34-0.
And in those final two matches, it was more of the same.
Levi Haines pinned his Sooner opponent in the second period and Rocco Welsh picked up the fifth technical fall on the night to close out the dual.
