Penn State Wrestling took care of business 36-5 against No. 2 Ohio State in a sold out Bryce Jordan Center.
And going into this dual meet, many wrestling experts had this one circled with a Sharpie on the calendar. But once again Cael Sanderson and the Nittany Lions proved that they are still the best in the nation. And for good reason.

Going into this dual, even the Penn State Wrestling faithful knew it wouldn’t be an easy task for the team.
But my goodness, with the way the night started out, it’s hard not to believe that both Luke Lilledahl and Marcus Blaze have ice in their veins.
Lilledahl opened the action with a thrilling takedown in sudden victory to get the Nittany Lions on the board.
Then in a back and forth match, Blaze pulled an incredible reversal on Davino in TB to win a 3-2 decision.
Next up at 141, Jesse Mendez continued to do what he’s done all year. And that’s just beat up on everyone. Unfortunately Braeden Davis was on the other end of this match as he dropped an 18-2 technical fall.
Continuing in the dual, Shayne Van Ness and PJ Duke piled on the points. SVN won a technical fall and Duke turned his opponent to the mat for the fall in the second period.
Going into intermission, Penn State Wrestling led the Buckeyes 17-5.
165-285
And coming out of the break, Mitchell Mesenbrink continued the onslaught.
Mesenbrink tacked on a 12-2 major decision. And the Nittany Lions extended their lead to 21-5.
Continuing with the action, Levi Haines then got the crowd going with his incredible wrestling. Furthermore, Haines ultimately won a completely one-sided 16-1 technical fall.
And then at 184, Rocco Welsh got one of the loudest roars from the Penn State Wrestling fans on the night.
Trailing 4-0 going into the third period, Welsh picked up his pace in the match. Landing two takedowns in the final period, Rocco was able to comeback and win a thrilling 7-6 decision.
Additionally, the win from Welsh gave the Nittany Lions a 29-5 advantage with only two matches remaining.
And in the final two bouts of the night, Josh Barr won a hard fought 11-2 major decision and Cole Mirasola won an amazing 4-1 in sudden victory to close out the dual.
