Penn State Wrestling took care of business 42-0 against No. 19 Stanford in the second and final round of the 2025 Journeymen Collegiate Duals.
The Nittany Lions completed the sweep by first blasting North Dakota State 46-0 earlier this evening. Then they capped the night off with a 42-0 win over the Stanford Cardinal.
For the day, Penn State Wrestling went a perfect 20-0 in matches and blanked both NDST and Stanford a combined 86-0.

Additionally, the Nittany Lions racked up four major decisions, six technical falls, and four pins on the day.
But enough of me blabbing on. Now onto the results!

This dual meet was significantly more competitive than the Nittany Lions’ previous one. And for obvious reasons.
Stanford has a handful of studs at various weight classes.
On paper, Stanford had the higher ranked guy in three of the 10 matches. But the reality is that wrestling doesn’t play out on paper.
And the Cardinal found out first-hand what it’s like going up against a team as strong as Penn State.

Nittany Lion Notes, What’s Next for Penn State Wrestling?

Penn State Wrestling sweeps the 2025 Collegiate Wrestling Duals and they are now 6-0 on the year. Furthermore, the Nittany Lions extend their dual meet unbeaten streak to 77.
This then gives Penn State Wrestling the D1 record for the longest win streak in NCAA history.
Cael Sanderson also ups his Nittany Lion career record to 224-16-2.
Next up for Penn State Wrestling is their first B1G dual meet of the season. The Nittany Lions will square off against No. 14 Rutgers on Saturday, January 10th. The dual meet is set to begin at 4:00pm EST and will air nationally on the B1G Network.
