The bracket has been set for the 2022 Charleston Classic for the eight teams participating, including Penn State Basketball.
The Nittany Lions will open the tournament with Furman on November 17th at 11:30 a.m. on ESPNU. Later, Penn State Basketball will then play either Virginia Tech or Old Dominion on Friday November 18th on either ESPN 2 or ESPNU.
Finally, the Nittany Lions would then play either the College of Charleston, Colorado State, Davidson, or South Carolina on Sunday November 20th in the crossover game.
Each team participating in the tournament is guaranteed to play three games in this tournament style event. All games will be broadcasted on the ESPN family of networks.
Furman is coming off a solid 2021-22 campaign that saw them finish one game away from making the NCAA Tournament. The Paladins finished 21-12 falling in the Southern Conference Tournament Championship to Chattanooga.

Ahead of the Charleston Classic, the Kenpom rankings for the field in 2022 were as follows: Virginia Tech (19), Davidson (40), Colorado State (46), Furman (74), Penn State (88), South Carolina (99), Charleston (144), Old Dominion (194).
Three teams in the field made the NCAA tournament last season. This included Virginia Tech (11), Davidson (10), and Colorado State (6).
This will be a solid measuring stick tournament for the Nittany Lions to gauge where they are as conference play approaches. T
Penn State Basketball should be improving this season, and it isn’t out of the realm of possibility that they finish 3-0 and win the tournament.
Despite Virginia Tech being the top seed, the Nittany Lions have won three straight games against Hokies in 2014, 2018, and 2020.
Anything less than 2-1 in the classic would be considered a disappointment for Penn State.
