Kevin Winston Jr.: Penn State Football Breakout Star in The Making
Winston Jr, last year, started all 13 games at safety making a team-high 60 tackles (35 solo), 2.5 tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries, an interception, and five pass breakups. Winston Jr is a machine.
But this is nothing new for the elite Defensive Back.
It’s just more about who he’s been.
He was a four-year letter winner for head coach Bill McGregor at DeMatha Catholic High School and a two-time team captain and two-time-team MVP.
Winston was named the All-Met State Defensive Player of the Year as a senior. Tallied 50 tackles, three interceptions, 10 pass breakups, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown during his senior campaign, and added two field goal blocks and five touchdowns. Rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports, On3 and Rivals. Winston was the No. 28 safety and No. 5 player in Maryland. Also ran track in high school.
