Connor Bewick has announced his commitment to play division I for Penn State Hockey.

The Illinois native is a defenseman, born in 2006, with strong skating skills and a quick-release shot. Bewick is 5-foot-11, and has a relaxing demeanor with the puck typically avoiding the first forechecker and excelling with his breakout passes.

These skills at such a young age should transfer easily to the NCAA ranks, and the Nittany Lions‘ blue line when he’s ready.

Bewick announced his commitment via Twitter on Monday afternoon. 

“I am humbled and honored to announce my commitment to play Division 1 hockey at Penn State University,” Bewick Tweeted. “I would like to thank my family, friends, and coaches who have supported me and helped me get to this point.”

With Team Illinois AAA last season he put up 12 points in 19 games played.

Bewick  was also recently selected for the 2022 U.S. Under-17 Men’s Select team at the 2022 Five Nations Tournament in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The U.S. National Development Program has proven to push young kids ahead early on in their careers. In fact, six players from the NDTP were selected in the first round of the 2022 NHL draft.

Keep an eye on Bewick, a potential stud D-man for the Penn State Nittany Lions.
