Penn State Basketball went to overtime against Northwestern again and found the same result, winning 67-65.
Amid rumors swirling all day about his future, Micah Shrewsberry was able to lead the Nittany Lions to their second straight upset victory in the Big Ten Tournament.
Penn State Basketball will play in just their third semi-final ever (2011, 2018).
This was not the world’s prettiest game, with neither team cracking 30 points at the half (Wildcats led 26-25). Both teams shot below 42%, although Penn State did end up shooting 10% higher from both three and the field.
Fifteen turnovers and very poor free throw shooting kept Northwestern in it all game, but in the end, Seth Lundy was there to save the day.

Lundy hit the game-tying jumper with 42 seconds left in regulation (both Northwestern’s Boo Buie and Andrew Funk missed potential game-winning shots) and both teams found themselves exactly where they were just last week.
Down 1 with 49 seconds left, Lundy hit a deep three to give the Nittany Lions the lead for good in a back-and-forth overtime period.
Penn State will have to stay up late to see who they play Saturday afternoon at 3:30 pm on CBS. Shrewsberry‘s team will either face Maryland, whom they split the regular season series with but beat at home just 6 days ago, or Indiana who the Nittany Lions last played in January, a 85-66 victory.
