Omari Gaines is the latest prospect to commit to Penn State Football, as the defensive back made his pledge on Tuesday, March 28.
Gaines, 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds, held offers from the likes of Duke, Boston College, and Ole Miss, before committing to the Nittany Lions.
Last season, Gaines logged 50 total tackles, and one interception.
“The way the coaches are involved in the athletes’ life outside of football, they stress the importance of an education and life outside of football,” Gaines said drew him to Penn State Football, in a conversation with Lions247. “Every time I visit, I just gain more knowledge of the different aspects other than football at Penn State.”
After adding Gaines, Penn State Football now boasts the No. 5 ranked class in the nation, in the 247Sports composite.

It was a great learning experience this season. Being able to play up on the varsity level as a freshman, and to play along side my big brothers was amazing. On to the off-season💯 https://t.co/J1leTe9SL6 @RUCoachFran @CoachMWatson @RivalsFriedman @CoachReynolds81 @CoachGaston_
