Quinton Martin, a high four-star athlete out of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, has verbally committed to Penn State Football.
The 6-foot 2-inch, 200 pound athlete is the top prospect in the state of Pennsylvania and the number 30 overall player in the country according to 247sports composite rankings.
Martin has incredible potential and will likely fall into five-star territory by the end of the 2024 cycle.
The newest Penn State Football commit picked the Nittany Lions over offers from Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame, Michigan, Texas, and many others.
Martin’s commitment would mark the third consecutive year that Penn State has received the commitment from Pennsylvania’s top overall prospect, joining Nick Singleton in 2022 and Jven Williams in 2023.
In his high school career, Martin has rushed for over 2600 yards and 40 touchdowns, caught 44 passes for 707 yards and 10 touchdowns, and intercepted 6 passes. He has played both sides of the ball since his freshman year in high school.
As a two-sport athlete, Martin also played basketball for Belle Vernon where he averaged 19 points and 9.6 rebounds per game during his sophomore basketball season.
While Martin’s talent gives him the ability to play either side of the ball, he will most likely join the Penn State running back room, joining Pennsylvania’s top 2022 prospect Nick Singleton. With Martin’s commitment, Penn State holds 7 commitments in the 2024 class that ranks 9th in the country.
On the offensive side of Penn State’s class, assuming Martin enrolls as a running back, Martin would join four-star offensive lineman Cooper Cousins and three-star tight end Luke Reynolds. Arguably Penn State’s top prospect overall in the 2024 class, Martin would also sit as the top ranked commit so far in the class.

Martin first visited Happy Valley back in September 2021 after being offered by Penn State in April 2021, one of the earliest visits in his recruitment.
After being offered by Pitt and Penn State during his freshman year, Martin has spent plenty of time on both campuses. This spring, Martin again visited Pittsburgh and Penn State in March.
Martin is scheduled to officially visit Penn State the weekend of June 9th, the same weekend as top quarterback target Michael Van Buren and could become a key recruiter in the class.
