Abdul Carter Shows Off New Super Car After Position Change

Abdul Carter, Penn State Football

f you were scrolling through Instagram stories within the last 24 hours and follow Abdul Carter, like I do, you may have noticed something.

A picture posted by Carter of what looks like a shiny new McLaren sitting along one of the main streets in Happy Valley.

For anyone that doesn’t know cars, a McLaren is one of those cars you stop and watch drive by when you see one. They are sexy, and extremely fast.

It wasn’t too long ago I laid into Penn State and its problems that it has had with NIL and the overall collectives inability to not even get the smallest things right. But with this most recent picture by Penn State footballs star linebacker, it begs the question is it getting better?

The short answer might be yes, at least on the heels of Carter making a position change to defensive end.

Although the picture most likely has nothing to do with Happy Valley United and everything to do with a corporate business coming along and reaching out to Abdul.  It appears to be a step in the right direction.

The NIL landscape in college football continues to be ever changing and challenging. Especially when schools like OSU are reported to have spent 13 million dollars this off season in NIL.

Penn State will have to continue to evolve and find ways to become the most attractive option they can be. I still believe Happy Valley United can be better, and I’m sure the corporate business side can be to. But let’s not think it’s going to get easier.

The likes of Oregon and USC have NIL operations that rival the best in the country. Until the NCAA puts more rules in place to try to level out the wildly uneven playing field we are currently on Penn State will have to continue to step its game up. So it might be a small step, but it’s a step in the right direction nonetheless.
