Penn State Edge Abdul Carter Makes Major NFL Draft Announcement

Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter very well might hear his name called as the No. 1 overall pick of the Tennesee Titans in the 2025 NFL Draft, but Tennessee and every other team will need to wait to see the All-American work out.

Monday, hours before the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine was set to get underway in Indianapolis, reports emerged that Carter won’t be working out this week. According to Carter’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, the 6-foot-3 and 259-pound game-wrecking pass rusher is still recovering from the injury he suffered against Boise State in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal.

“We fully expect Abdul to be recovered in time to work out at his pro day at Penn State, and he will perform at a very high level,” Rosenhaus told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Philadelphia native, and former five-star recruit, produced 12 sacks with 68 total tackles during his final season in Happy Valley, while logging two forced fumbles and four pass breakups.

In addition to his value on the stat sheet, Pro Football Focus credits Carter with 43 pressures while awarding him an elite 93 true pas-rush-win-rate.

Carter’s disruptiveness pops off his game film, but if there are teams hoping to get some sort of validation of his athleticism from his 40-yard dash, or short-shuttle, they’ll likely need to wait for Penn State’s pro day next month in Happy Valley.
