Penn State Football: 5-Star OL, National Elites Descend on Happy Valley in Crucial Recruiting Weekend

This upcoming weekend marks the third official visit weekend for Penn State Football.

For those that may not know, an official visit is a visit in which the school pays for travel, lodging, food, and more for the recruits. They get to spend a maximum of 48 hours on campus.

These official visits have been going well for the Nittany Lions. Last week, they even netted a commitment from Cornerback Amauri Polydor during his official visit.

This weekend will be a big one for Penn State Football’s recruiting efforts.

The headliner of this weekend’s official visitor list is 5 5-star Offensive Lineman, Immanuel Iheanacho.

Iheanacho is from Baltimore, and he has every major program’s attention.

Recently, Iheanacho released a top 4 of Auburn, Penn State, Oregon, and LSU.

The main objectives for Penn State Football this weekend will be selling the fact that Penn State is closest to home for Iheanacho, and likely trying to piece together a lucrative NIL deal for him. Iheanacho’s visit will be a fascinating one.

Another nationally recognized recruit tabbed to stop by Happy Valley is California native, Brian Bonner. Sources tell NittanyCentral that Bonner is most definitely interested in the Nittany Lions.

Bonner wouldn’t be making the trek if he wasn’t interested. The biggest competition for Penn State looks to be Nebraska, Washington, and UCLA.

Newly offered blue-chipper, Tight End, Brayden Fogle is slated to take a visit to Penn State this weekend. Fogle is out of Ohio and could be a Tight End coming more into focus on the 2026 recruiting board for Penn State, given Mack Sutter seems to be fading for Penn State.

Fogle is a new name, but still a very talented one. Penn State is up against Georgia, LSU, and Michigan. The big man is looking for somewhere to go and be developed. This weekend will be crucial for Penn State and Fogle to get to know each other.

Uncommitted Defensive Lineman to Watch for Penn State

Two intriguing defenders will visit State College this weekend.

East Coast Edge Rusher, Carter Gooden is set to visit Penn State.

Gooden has seen a lot of fluctuation on Penn State’s D-Line board, but getting an official visit bodes very well for Gooden. It will be interesting to see how this weekend unfolds for Gooden and Penn State.

In addition to Carter Goodnen, rising Defensive Lineman, T-Ron Richardson out of Virginia is slated to be on campus.

Richardson appears to be a possible late riser. He recently picked up offers from Penn State, Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida. I haven’t heard too much feedback on Richardson from Penn State’s side, but this weekend could help clarify that.

Touted Offensive Linemen Set for Official Visit

In addition to Iheanacho, Offensive Linemen, Charlie Thom and Drew Evers are on this weekend’s official visitor list.

Drew Evers is from Texas, and frankly, appears to be a long shot for the Nittany Lions.

Penn State’s primary competitor looks to be the Ohio State Buckeyes. Given the disadvantage that Penn State is seemingly at, this weekend could be a potential turning point as they have an opportunity to knock it out of the park with Evers and possibly turn the tide.

A much different prospect from blue chippers, Iheanacho and Evers is Charlie Thom.

The Connecticut native just picked up a Penn State offer this past weekend. This is a guy to potentially circle. He seems like a candidate to commit to Penn State while he still has a chance.

However, he could also decide to slow-play things and hope to gain more offers. Penn State will look to sway Thom their way this weekend.
