Penn State Football added one of the premier linebacker prospects in the 2026 recruiting cycle (Syndication: Hanover Evening Sun)
DePaul Catholic Offensive Lineman, Marlen Bright, announced his commitment to Penn State Football.
Bright’s commitment makes him the 24th commit in Penn State‘s class of 2026.
Who Were The Other Contenders?
Frankly, Marlen Bright has appeared to be a lock for the Nittany Lions for a long time now.
Rated as an ON3 Industry 3-star, Bright is the 608th best player nationally in the class of 2026. Within his home state of New Jersey, he is rated as the 11th-best player.

According to ON3’s visit center, Bright has visited the Nittany Lions 10 times. The next closest school is Illinois. Bright has made it to Illinois twice. Illinois would appear to be the second-place team?
However, Penn State has led in this one for a while. Bright visited West Virginia, Syracuse, and Illinois officially, and now wraps up his official visits with a visit to Happy Valley.

What is Next for Penn State’s Class of 2026?
After Bright’s announcement, things seem to get a little clearer for the class of 2026.
Tyson Harley, Travis Johnson, and Dorian Barney are all set to announce very soon. All three of them are prospects that Penn State has been in on, however, I would be surprised to see the Nittany Lions land all three of them.
After Harley, Johnson, and Barney all announced their commitments, the class of 2026 recruiting seems to die down.
With Penn State having 20-some commitments, the class will not have as many dominoes falling. They look to add one or two more prospects and then start working to flip some of the bigger fish like Joey O’Brien or Immanuel Iheanacho.
