NFL Draft 2025: Abdul Carter Receives Positive Injury Update
As the NFL Draft nears, former Penn State standout Abdul Carter received some positive news when it comes to the injuries that have limited him throughout the pre-draft process.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Carter’s foot injury is making progress.
“Abdul Carter’s medical recheck in Indianapolis today showed that the stress reaction in his foot is healing, there has been improvement and no surgery will be needed, per his agent Drew Rosenhaus,” Schefter posted on X (formerly known as Twitter.

Schefter’s report reinforces what NFL Reporter Matt Lombardo noted Friday; that neither the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, or any of the teams picking at the top of the board had any concerns about Carter’s injury.
Schefter continued on to say that Carter’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus said “It should be a non-factor with the teams at this point.”

Abdul Carter Remains a Top NFL Draft Prospect
The Philadelphia native, and former All-American edge rusher at Penn State produced 12 sacks with 68 total tackles during his final season in Happy Valley, emerging not just as a game-wrecker along the Nittany Lions’ front seven but also solidifying his status as one of the premier prospects in this year’s draft class.

Despite the injuries that prevented him from working out at the NFL Combine or during Penn State’s pro day, all signs seem to be trending towards Carter being one of the first players to hear his name called by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on draft night.
