NCAA Tournament: Penn State Basketball vs. Texas Time, TV Channel, How to Watch Online for FREE
Penn State Basketball aims to keep its Cinderella NCAA Tournament run going, when the No. 10 Nittany Lions led by guards Jalen Pickett and Andrew Funk, and head coach Micah Shrewsberry take on the No. 2 seed Texas Longhorns at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023 on CBS.
Funk came out firing against Texas A&M, scoring a season-high 27 points on 8-of-10 shooting from beyond the arc.
The Nittany Lions, who came one possession shy of taking down Purdue for the Big Ten Tournament Championship, ran past Texas A&M in blowout fashion, 76-59, in the opening round of the tournament in Des Moines, Iowa.
Meanwhile, Texas arrives into the second-round after dispatching Colgate 81-61 in their opening game of the 2023 NCAA Tournament. Colgate is actually a stronger three-point shooting team than the Nittany Lions, who thrive beyond the arc.
Despite his name being linked to high profile jobs such as the Notre Dame and Georgetown vacancies, Shrewsberry guided Penn State Basketball to wins in 8 of the final 10 games to close out the season, and now has his time 40 minutes from the Sweet 16.
Reports surfaced Friday that Penn State Basketball intends to make a financial commitment to keep Shrewsberry in Happy Valley, but those talks are expected to begin whenever the Lions’ March Madness run ends.
