Penn State Football is building another great recruiting class in the 2024 cycle, but the Nittany Lions still don’t have a commitment at the most important position on the field.
Despite having 13 commits in the 2024 class, Penn State does not have a quarterback in the fold yet. It is uncommon for a class to not include a quarterback commit this late in the cycle. That may be changing soon though.
The quarterback dominos are about to start falling.
Where Penn State Football Goes From Here at QB
The first will be 2025 4-star quarterback Cutter Boley, who will announce his decision on Thursday. The interesting thing about Boley is that he may reclassify to the 2024 class, depending on what the school he chooses prefers he does. Right now, his home state team of Kentucky is the favorite to land him.

Also committing on Thursday is 2024 4-star Michael Van Buren.
Van Buren visited Penn State multiple times over the past year and the Nittany Lions had to feel good about their chances.
A trip to Oregon seems to have swayed Van Buren’s recruitment though. The fact that Van Buren will make his decision before taking official visits is bad news for Penn State. It looks like the Baltimore quarterback will be headed West.
With two top targets coming off the board on the same week, the Nittany Lions will turn up the heat on other targets.
Penn State Football Top QB Targets in 2024 Cycle
The most notable seems to be 3-star Ethan Grunkemeyer from Ohio. The recently offered Grunkemeyer was on campus for a visit last weekend and Penn State has to feel good about its chances.
Keep an eye on Grunkemeyer in the coming weeks as Penn State football looks to finally add a quarterback to its 2024 recruiting class.
