NFL Draft 2025: These 3 Teams Showing the Most Interest in Abdul Carter

One of the biggest weeks on the NFL calendar is currently underway, as the NFL Scouting Combine takes place. Penn State‘s star edge, Abdul Carter, is the player everyone is focusing on.

Wednesday, Carter revealed that the Tennessee Titans, New York Giants, and New England Patriots are the first teams to have scheduled meetings with him this week in Indianapolis.

Carter is expected to be the first non-quarterback selected, and given that this year’s quarterback class isn’t as strong as previous years, there is a chance he could go No. 1 overall.

The Tennessee Titans hold the No. 1 pick, and while they need a quarterback, passing up on Carter could be a significant risk.

Taking Carter could make the Titans’ defense into one of the best units in the NFL, and the 21-year-old pass rusher met with the organization this week.

Why Abdul Carter to The Tennessee Titans Could be an Ideal Fit

Tennessee could view Carter as a once-in-a-lifetime talent; taking a pass rusher No.1 while passing up on a quarterback has happened multiple times before.

For example, in 2017, the Cleveland Browns held the No. 1 pick, and instead of taking a quarterback, they chose Texas A&M pass rusher Myles Garrett even though Patrick Mahomes was selected No. 10 overall.

If the Titans decide not to draft Carter, he won’t have a long slide down the board. He stated that the New York Giants, who have the No. 3 pick, and the New England Patriots, who have the No. 4 pick, have also met with him.

Carter will be the story to watch on draft night since nobody knows what will happen with the quarterbacks. If two quarterbacks go inside the top two picks., Carter will likely go No. 3
