Penn State Football continues to aggressively explore its wide receiver options in the transfer portal.

According to Brian Dohn at 247 Sports, University of Miami transfer portal wide receiver Colbie Young will take an official visit to Penn State this weekend.

Is WR Colbie Young a Fit For Penn State Football?

Young, a native of Scranton, Pennsylvania, began his college career at a JUCO school very familiar to Penn State and fans, Lackawanna College, where Penn State has found Jaquan Brisker, Ji’Ayir Brown, and JB Nelson in recent years.

Out of Lackawanna in 2022, Young, a three-star JUCO prospect at the time, committed to the University of Miami. In 2023, Young caught 47 passes for 563 yards and five touchdowns for the Hurricanes before entering the transfer portal after the season.

Penn State Football Transfer Portal WR Strategy Taking Shape?

In the 247 Sports transfer portal rankings, Young ranks 31st overall and ranks as the 5th overall receiver, one spot higher than another transfer portal Penn State is trending for, Ohio State transfer Julian Fleming.

With Penn State Football in need of help at wide receiver out of the portal and likely taking at least two receivers out of the portal if possible, getting Young on campus is a huge step for Penn State to bolstering the weapons for Drew Allar heading into a pivotal 2024 season for Penn State.
