EA Sports College Football 25: Predicting Penn State Football’s Highest-Rated Players

EA Sports finally released gameplay footage for its upcoming College Football 25 video game that comes out July 19, and has Penn State Football fans counting down the minutes.

While the official release date is still a month and a half away, there is plenty to be excited about for Penn State fans.

In the gameplay release trailer and the official trailer, Nittany Lions fans have been able to see the whiteout backdrop at night in Beaver Stadium and a “homefield advantage” meter that ranks Penn State second in the country for stadium atmosphere.

However, fans are still waiting on one final announcement, the team and player ratings.

Penn State Football: Predicting 5-Highest Rated Players in EA Sports College Football 25

Defensive End Abdul Carter: 96 Overall

Since his position change this summer, there has been a major fascination around the country with defensive end Abdul Carter.

Carter has popped up on most early mock drafts as a first-round pick in next year’s draft, with some listing him as a top-five selection.

In 2023, Carter posted 4.5 sacks and 5.5 tackles for a loss while having one of the highest pass-rush win rates in college football.

Now, with the position change to defensive end, Carter will be able to focus on the opposing backfield and his stats could explode in his third season on campus.

The junior defensive end was listed among pre-season All-Americans for 2025 and would be a safe bet to be Penn State’s top overall player in College Football 25 this summer.

Safety KJ Winston: 94 Overall

Another Nittany Lion popping up on early mock drafts for 2025 is safety KJ Winston.

Although he was the younger starting safety entering last season, Winston quickly made his presence known, including through recording a team-high 60 tackles last season.

Now in his third season and draft-eligible after this year, Winston is set to anchor the back end of the Penn State defense in 2024.

Winston could be one of the highest-rated safeties in the game and could end up being one of the top safeties selected next April.

Defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton: 90 Overall

Could Penn State’s top three players in College Football 25 be defensive players? It would be a pretty good bet.

Despite losing a lot of talent to the 2024 NFL draft, Penn State’s defense is once again loaded in 2024.

Dani Dennis-Sutton is yet another 2022 recruit entering his junior season primed to explode onto the national scene.

In 2023, Dennis-Sutton played the most snaps of any Penn State defensive end despite not starting for most of the season behind Adisa Isaac and Chop Robinson.

Dennis-Sutton recorded 3.5 sacks, six tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery, including a game-ending strip sack that led to a safety against Indiana last November.

Dennis-Sutton could play his way into first-round territory next April with a good season this fall and should be among the top five overall players on Penn State’s roster in College Football 25.

Running Back Nick Singleton: 88 Overall

Although running back Nick Singleton had a statistically worse season than fellow running back Kaytron Allen in 2023, I still believe Singleton will be the higher-rated back in College Football 25.

His speed, elusiveness, and homerun ability make him a very intriguing player and could significantly boost his stats on the game despite the slight step back in 2023.

Singleton was also selected as a brand ambassador for the new game by EA Sports this year, which makes his inclusion on this list more probable.

Quarterback Drew Allar: 87 Overall

There may not be a more polarizing quarterback in college football than Drew Allar.

Allar has been getting major hate on social media for his struggles last season against Michigan and Ohio State, but the rising junior quarterback also tied for the Big Ten lead in touchdown passes last season and ranked in the top five in the Big Ten in most statistical categories.

I project that Allar’s arm strength and overall physical talents will make him one of Penn State’s top five players in College Football 25 this summer.

Fans can preorder EA Sports’ College Football 25 now ahead of its release on July 19th. The Nittany Lions should be one of the top teams in the game when it releases and opponents will surely have their hands full trying to play an away game at the intimidating Beaver Stadium.

Until Penn State returns to the field in August, playing as the Nittany Lions will have to hold fans off for a month and a half before the season starts.
