Penn State Football survived. That’s all that matters from last week’s wild, come from behind, season-opening victory over Purdue.
There are many things that you could take away from Penn State’s win over Purdue on Thursday, as the Nittany Lions will now look to make it 2-0 as they battle with Ohio Bobcats on Saturday in the Home Opener.
Safety Keaton Ellis would speak to the Media on Tuesday and there were a couple of things that stood out
The Purdue victory was Ellis’s first game at Safety after playing at Corner last year, and that presents a whole new set of challenges for any defensive back.

When it came to how the defense came up with the big stop after the offense came up with the winning touchdown on the final drive of the game, Ellis said that the Defense has the offense’s back.
“That’s our job,” Ellis said. “The offense has the defense’s back, and the defense has the offense’s back. That showed. We did our job, did what was required of us.
“Purdue is a great team, the fought hard, a great game, and a great battle. We were happy to come out of there with a win, especially being away.”
Returning to the friendly confines of Beaver Stadium presents an opportunity for Penn State Football to “get right” in Week 2.
Saturday against Ohio represents an opportunity for Penn State Football to clean up some of the things that held the Lions back from running away from Purdue.
If Ellis and the defense can once again put their best foot forward, perhaps the game can be a springboard to carry the Nittany Lions through the rest of September, beginning in Week 3 at Auburn.
