Penn State Football: Setting the Expectation for National Signing Day

The early signing period for the 2024 recruiting cycle is finally here for Penn State Football and the rest of the college football world.

High school recruiting has gone under the radar lately for the Nittany Lions, considering the two coordinator changes, transfer portal news, and anticipation for the Peach Bowl.

That will not be the case Wednesday as recruiting will once again take center stage.

While it will be an exciting day, it’s expected to be a quiet day for Penn State. The Nittany Lions have 25 commits locked in, and there’s been no indication of any possible flips, either to Penn State, or away from the Nittany Lions.

There hasn’t been a single prediction from 247 Sports or On3 placed for Penn State Football with a 2024 recruit in months.

Last year, Penn State did have some drama as 4-star safety recruit Conrad Hussey flipped to Florida State late in the evening on the night of the early signing day.

Meet Penn State Football Class of 2024

The class is headlined by three offensive stars this year.

They are 5-star tight end Luke Reynolds, 4-star quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer and 4-star running back Quinton Martin. These three could very well be the future of new offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki’s offense in Happy Valley.

Another coach who should be very pleased on Wednesday is first year defensive line coach Deion Barnes.

The young coach will be adding six young men to his group. That group is highlighted by 4-stars Liam Andrews and Mylachi Williams.

Penn State’s class is currently ranked No. 13 in the national rankings, but expect that to change as the signing day madness across the country will result in flips and new commitments.
