NFL Draft 2025: Abdul Carter Drawing Micah Parsons Comparisons, Tyler Warren Rising

Penn State Football is preparing for the 2025 season, but a handful of its former players are getting ready to hear their names called during the NFL Draft this April.

Two Nittany Lions who will be drafted in the first round are pass rusher Abdul Carter and tight end Tyler Warren.

Carter could be the No. 1 non-quarterback selected, while Warren could be in the Top 15.

Penn State Football Could Have Two Top-10 NFL Draft Picks

Trevor Sikkema from Pro Football Focus published his top 300 prospects for this year’s draft, and both Carter and Warren are inside the Top 10.

Sikkema has Carter ranked as his No. 2 prospect and has high praise for the former Penn State pass rusher.

“It’s hard not to see some Micah Parsons in Carter, who not only wears the same No. 11 but also pops off the screen nearly every play due to being a rare caliber athlete,” Sikkema wrote. “If he can get even stronger, he has All-Pro potential as a player worthy of a top-five pick.”

Carter could be one of the best pass rushers in the NFL over the next few years, and whichever team takes him will get a star.

Warren should be the first tight end to be drafted, and Sikkema has Warren as the eighth-best player in the draft.

“Warren is a do-everything tight end who any coach would love to input into their offense,” Sikkema wrote. “He isn’t a twitchy or flexible athlete who can unlock the whole route tree, but his versatility is incredibly valuable in the run-and-pass games. He is worthy of a first-round selection.”

Warren isn’t just a tight end. He could line up everywhere on the offense, from quarterback to running back and wide receiver. There is an excellent chance Warren will become the next best tight end in the NFL over the next year and a problem for 31 NFL defenses to deal with.
