The Nittany Lions’ defense was a force to be reckoned with, holding the Mountaineers’ rushing attack to just 85 yards. This strong defensive performance bodes well for the upcoming game against the Bowling Green Falcons.

The Nittany Lions will host the Falcons this Saturday in their highly anticipated home opener, which sets the stage for their first performance in front of their home crowd this season.

Penn State Football is favored by over four touchdowns, but there are still players Tom Allen’s defense will need to key on for Saturday to be the kind of game many are expecting from the Lions.

Penn State Football Must Key in On These Bowling Green Players

RB Terion Stewart

Meanwhile, the Falcons are coming off a convincing 41-17 win over Fordham, showcasing a formidable rushing attack. Bowling Green amassed an impressive 305 yards on the ground, with Terion Stewart leading the charge with 161 yards and three touchdowns, averaging an impressive 11.5 yards per carry.

TE Harold Fannin Jr.

In the passing game, the Nittany Lions will need to keep an eye on tight end Harold Fannin Jr. He led the Falcons with six catches for 67 yards against Fordham. Last season, Fannin caught 44 passes for 623 yards and six touchdowns.

QB Conner Bazelak

Falcons quarterback Conner Bazelak is known for his efficiency. Last week, he threw for 168 yards and completed an impressive 68.2% of his passes. With the Falcons’ strong rushing attack, Bazelak didn’t need to do much, but his accuracy and decision-making could pose a challenge for the Nittany Lions’ defense.

The Nittany Lions must slow down the Falcons’ rushing attack, force them to pass more often, and make them uncomfortable.
