Penn State Dominates West Virginia Sparking Dan Mullen to Make Bold Big Ten Claim

Penn State Football looked like a different football team in their 34-12 win over West Virginia on Saturday, thanks to an offense that was taking shots downfield and capitalizing in a big way.

The Nittany Lions‘ new offensive coordinator, Andy Kotelnicki, demonstrated to Penn State fans that things will be much different under his guidance, and the first game couldn’t have gone any better.

Quarterback Drew Allar threw for 216 yards and three touchdowns, while running back Nick Singleton rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Harrison “Tre” Wallace contributed with five receptions for 117 yards and two touchdowns.

Naturally, the defense put on a show as they always do, but this time it was under new defensive coordinator Tom Allen. It’s an encouraging sign that things will remain strong on that side of the ball.

The national media took notice of Penn State’s big win, and former college football coach Dan Mullen praised the Nittany Lions.

On Sunday morning’s ESPN College Football Final, there was a segment discussing who is the second-best team in the Big Ten behind Ohio State: Oregon, Michigan, or Penn State.

Mullen argued that Penn State is the second-best team in the Big Ten after going on the road and beating a strong West Virginia team by 22 points, while Oregon and Michigan struggled at home against lower-tier opponents.

With everything going for them, Penn State has a chance to become the best team in the Big Ten this season.

However, to achieve that, they’ll need to beat Ohio State in early November.
